PROJECT BRIEF
826 National is a nonprofit dedicated to tutoring students and encouraging them to learn. HOMEPLATE is a concept for an 826 location in St. Louis, MO that uses the city's deep-rooted love for baseball to motivate reading among the community.

PROJECT BRIEF
A 10 episode limited series; Follows a young adult and his journey through Detroit as he becomes conflicted with his newly gained abilities. Growing up in poverty and having faced struggle everyday up to this point, the newfound abilities grant him a new set of opportunities and consequences. Desperately wanting to get himself and his people out of their struggles, he struggles with finding the line he’s willing to cross and he must choose between crime and heroism.

PHASE ONE
RESEARCHING
Before diving into creating a unique and distinctly St. Louis storefront and brand, I teamed up with a partner (Zoe Tally) to research and discover the heart and soul of the St. Louis city and community.
PHASE TWO
IDEATING
After uncovering the city's love and appreciation for the sport of baseball, I decided to use the idea of becoming a star ball player to inspire. Each star was hand-crafted to look different from each other, symbolizing the uniqueness and diversity of the city.
As I worked through creating a full brand identity, I focused on establishing an image that instantly conveyed the sport of baseball without leaning too heavily into cliques or common-used elements. This led to a shifted focus on the plates and stitching of the ball along with bringing in some more commonly-associated icons such as the star.
